I entered the Project Management field through the hospitality industry by initiating, developing and executing training for a chain restaurant in order to create consistency in both food output and customer service. Within this role, I would act as a “Secret Shopper” ensuring that other locations were following these guidelines the company put into place. Following this position, I worked in the automotive industry again in a training capacity as well as a paperless conversion project and the Computer Vehicle Registration (CVR) project which allowed dealers the ability to register vehicles on-site. The CVR project required that I learn the basics of all jobs that this initiative would effect to ensure that I could create a smooth process flow.
In 1998 I entered the IT industry. I received my PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) in January of 2002 and have since become an active member of PMI. In May of 2003 I was offered a board member position in the New Hampshire Chapter of PMI and served a two year term as the Director of Communications. In addition to my board member duties, I mentored a 13 week class of 10 Project Managers whose goal was to pass the PMP exam.
Mostly this position as a certified Project Manager involved managing the IT service delivery process by initiating and managing the full project cycle of multiple, concurrent IT service projects through staff and contracted service providers, providing a wide array of solutions to clients internationally.
My current role, post VMware acquisition, has revolved around internal process analysis and enhancement. This includes creation and dissemination of Service based IP, knowledge management (both internally and externally) and assistance as requested for PMO creation due to past experience.
Specialties:
Project Management, Program Management, Portfolio Management, Project Planning, Tactical and Strategic Planning, Process Analysis and Engineering, Budget Planning and Administration, Resource Management, Test/Development/Production Deployments, Quality Assurance, Organizational Layouts, Client and Vendor Relations and Workflow Analysis and Enhancements
