After being promoted into a project manager position (and finding I really love the work), I've decided to enroll in Boston University's MS CIS program, with a focus in IT Project Management. By the end of the program I will have my masters and be well prepared (after a few prep courses) for the PMP exam.
My background is media and technology; lately I've been focusing on Web projects. I've been doing a bit of freelance work, outside the day job, helping a few friends with small businesses get more out of their websites and social media efforts.
I know there is a wealth of information within this community, and I was wondering if anyone has any general advice for someone just starting down the project management path.
It's a pleasure to be a part of this group, and I look forward to getting to know other project managers.
